At our Camping Birthday Bash a few weeks ago we decided that the perfect little thank you treat for our guests would be trail mix. A snack for them to eat on the drive home that would also fit into the camping theme perfectly. I can’t help but think of how adorable this would be for an outdoor wedding in the fall!
Our guests were able to decorate their own containers and then create their own mix. For the containers we put out white to go cups, topped with adorable “Happy Trails” stickers from Minted. They decorated their cups with washi tape and permanent markers.
After decorating the cups they filled up with an assortment of trail mix goodies. We included:
- peanuts
- almonds
- crasins
- chocolate candies
- cookies & creme dots
- pretzels
I set up the trail mix bar with an old feed sack, red lanterns, a picnic basket, christmas tree, and a custom made Trail Mix sign from Minted. The bar was a big success, and the kids definitely loved decorating their cups! {I was impressed by the amount of washi tape one kid can put on a cup!} And the adults of all ages seemed to enjoy mixing up a treat to take home.
What would you put in your trail mix bar? A specific chocolate? Or nut? I could always use more suggestions for when I create another trail mix bar!

Cute idea for entertaining. I’d add goldfish or bugels to the trail mix!

Such a cute idea, I’m sure the lucky recipients loved it! I think I would add some more dried fruit, maybe cherries?

So cute! Looks like the kids had a great time making their own trail mix. I’ll have to try this with my kids. Thanks for joining the Family Joy Link Party!

Both kids & adults would like that! And you do it so attractively too! That’s something I would never have thought of, but I like the idea.
