Today I am bringing you another great craft that will allow you to create art for your home on a small budget and with no crafting skills required! π I have been loving all of the stunning weaving wall art that has been trending, and I am such a sucker for the neutral styles like this one by Nate Berkus and this Gray and White Hanging. And while learning to weave is now on my "learn-to-do" list I also wanted to come up with a non-woven version that I can create today.
To create this no-weave yarn art you will need three supplies and about 20 minutes.
Supplies: yarn | thin wooden dowel {mine is 1/4 inch} | scissors
First you will want to determine the length of your hanging. I cut a piece of yarn to my desired length for an easy template.
Next cut pieces of yarn DOUBLE the length of your template piece. Start with 10 pieces and then cut more as needed.
Now it is time to hang the yarn on the dowel. Fold the yarn in the center and lay the dowel on top of the yarn {near the top of the folded edge}. Bring the two loose pieces up and pull them through the loop at the top. Pull to tighten and repeat. Again and again.
Once you are done hanging the yarn you will need to attach a piece of yarn for hanging.
To finish of the yarn art I decided to trim it at an angle. To make the trimming easy I placed scotch tape on my yarn and then cut, following the tape as my guide. The end result was a geometric shaped yarn art.
I'm loving this beautiful art and already trying to come up with new places to put yarn art. Could you see this somewhere in your home? I would love to hear from you if you give this art project a try!
