This is the first year that I have spent time decorating the outside of my home for the Christmas season. I think it may have something to do with us having no snow on the ground and crazy mild temperatures. {Between you and me I am still holding out for snow on the ground for Christmas.} If you are thinking of decorating outside this holiday season allow me to encourage you that it can be done quickly and on a budget! Here are my 5 tips for decking the outside of your home:
1. Take unused planters and fill it with a small cut tree.
2. Use old blankets for your chairs.
3. Keep the leftover garland! You can tie jute twine and create the small swags hanging from my sled and windows.
4. Use those natural resources. Have the kids help you collect down branches, pinecones or leftover firewood. Place them in old planters or galvanized tubs.
5. Above all, try and keep it natural with neutral colors and items found in nature.
You can see a tour of the inside of our home decked out for Christmas here. And steps for how I created the simple crescent wreath here. If you decorate the outside of your home I would love to see pictures! Please share and tag me so I can find them!
Have a beautiful day,
