I am loving this jewelry branch that is hanging in my bedroom. It organizes. It looks beautiful. And it requires very few supplies to create it. Even my kids and husband noticed it!
If you want to create a jewelry branch for yourself you will need: a branch {in case you couldn't guess that part…}, polyurethane {mine is a quick drying clear coat}, foam brush, twine, gloves, hot glue gun, and cup hooks.
First, make sure that your branch is free of extra dirt and bugs. {I wiped mine with a clean microfiber cloth.} And then you will want to coat it with the polyurethane. Wear gloves please, you won't enjoy the smell or texture it leaves on your fingers. Not that I learned that one the hard way.
After your branch has completely dried you can add the cup hooks. Lay them out ahead of time so you know how many you will want on your branch. I placed mine about 4 inches apart and did not add any to the branch coming out on the top. I liked the clean look it gives. But by all means, make it yours! After you have decided where you want the cup hooks to go screw them into place.
Finally you will want to add the twine. I wrapped twine around each end for decorative purposes and used a dot of hot glue to keep it in place. To hang the branch I cut a piece of twine that was about 1.5 times the length of my branch. Then I tied it to each end of the branch. For good measure I did this two more times to make sure the twine would be sturdy enough.
My branch was top heavy because of the small branch sticking out of the top. To keep it upright when it was hanging on the wall I took an extra piece of twine and tied the top branch to the long twine used for hanging. This keeps my jewelry branch from flipping over. If you use one straight branch you won't need to worry about this step. My suggestion is troubleshoot. {helpful, right?} If you hang it up and it is too top heavy find a place where you can attach the extra branches to the hanging twine.
If you create your own version of a branch jewelry hanger I would love to see the result! Make sure you tag me on social media so I can find you!

How fun! I made something similar from a piece of driftwood. Totally love how it turned out. Never thought of sealing it, nice shine on yours.
