Lately our adoption journey has been hard. Except for two documents we have been ready to have our dossier translated since the first week of August. This past week I reached a breaking point. I needed to get those last two documents so we could move on. The problem is these documents come from other people, after appointments, through professionals. Something that is out of my control. You see, my personal timeline to complete the dossier had not been met, actually it had been destroyed. After this many years of waiting to adopt you would think I have learned to be patient and wait. Not. Even. Close.
Thankfully this past Thursday, when I was feeling pretty defeated in the whole process, I was with some wonderful people. What a difference kind words from supporters can make! The verse below was shared with me and it is a promise I am clinging to.
But the Lord stood with me, and gave me strength. 2 Timothy 4:17
The wonderful news is the very next day my plea’s were answered and the final document came through. And it didn’t just arrive, it arrived early enough for me to drive to Des Moines and have everything state sealed before the Secretary of State office closed for the weekend! We also found a great translator that seems to be very efficient and cheaper than the one originally suggested. What an awesome blessing! All of our dossier documents have now been gathered and state sealed and are in the process of being translated. So awesome!
<<This is a picture of all our dossier documents (before we receive the translated copy). Some of these papers are stacks. Almost all of them required appointments with professionals, or letters to be written by other people.>>
Current prayer requests:
That the dossier would be translated quickly and correctly.
That we will be able to submit our dossier (our application to adopt) to Haiti in the month of October with no more delays.
For the future child we will adopt. Protection and preservation while they wait for us in Haiti.
Thank you for all the support that has been given to our family, we are so thankful for each one who has offered to help and pray!
