Does anyone else have a dining room that overnight becomes the “stuff” room? Meaning that big dining time is actually just a landing place for stuff, and is rarely used for dining? I totally know that feeling! Ours is currently covered in a few loads of folded laundry. (Sidenote, I really need to take care of those piles today.)
A good friend, and fellow small business owner at Naptime Tales and Gift Guide Girl, just finished adding board and batten to her dining room and reached out to me for design help. Their dining room is often used for puzzles and games but needs storage and style. She wants the room to fit in with the rest of their east coast home, which has a very updated traditional feel. So I got to work creating a mood board for the room, which I’m sharing below. The colors are traditional taupes and gray, with a purple undertone, that will give the room a warm and welcoming feel. You’ll want to stay tuned for the final design plans because this is going to be one beautiful dining room for their busy family of four.
If you love the look of this updated traditional dining room then you’ll want to check out the products I picked out below. (Just click on the product to be taken to the site where it is sold.) The furniture and accessories bring a sense of tradition while incorporating an updated and current feeling.
