A couple of weeks back I shared with you how I was done waiting for the perfect house and was going to get back into the decorating swing of things. We’ve made it to the other side of our fall barn sale and this week has been spent focusing on getting back into the routine of life, school, and harvest preparation. While there hasn’t been an abundance of time to tackle house projects lately, I did manage to finish styling the upstairs hallway.
This big wooden ladder was in the window of one of my favorite local shops, and I knew it would be the perfect alternative to a traditional bookshelf for the other half of my upstairs hallway. So now I have two ladders in the upstairs hallway, which may mean I have a ladder problem? Knowing me it won’t stay in the hallway for long always. 😉
The suitcases stored under the shelf are two of my kids memory suitcases. To see what we save in the suitcases head over to this post.
To help this serve as a bookshelf and not just a display spot for pretty things I added a couple of baskets to the shelves. Finding ones that fit the shallow depth of the steps was a challenge, but I ended up taking a little tape measure into a couple different stores with me until I found something that fit. The smaller boxes are actually for CD storage found here, and the basket was on clearance here.

I’ve never done a ladder shelf in my home but love them whenever I see them at other people’s places! Love the color, structure and style/organization you gave it.
