Recently I decided to take the playroom in our home, and switch it over to my office studio space. We sorted and moved toys and then I began to work on organizing all of my crafting, photography and blogging supplies in the room. It is one of those jobs that I started with a big dose of enthusiasm on the weekend and then as the week began it seemed to stall out. So today I'm trying to finish organizing my craft supplies, bring in some of my favorite vintage pieces from my home, and get this studio space useable!
I have a small couch along one wall of the studio that needed a coffee table or footrest of some kind. There isn't a lot of space in the studio so I needed it to be narrow but still functional. And so I decided to start shopping my house to see what would fit the criteria.
Two storage ottomans that have seen a lot of wear and tear gave me just enough space for resting my feet, while also providing extra storage. To make the space also functional for holding my coffee cup I added a vintage corn tray to the top. The result is the perfect coffee table, one that provides storage, a footrest, and a place to set my coffee.
My favorite part about this solution? I didn't have to buy anything new to fit the space. By shopping around the house, and thinking outside of the box, I came up with the perfect coffee table for the small space! Sometimes the solutions are right in front of us, it just takes a little creativity to find them.
What about you? Have you found solutions for coffee tables that weren't actually coffee tables? I would love to hear about what you use in your home to create a space that is both functional and beautiful!
