With September right around the corner I am totally ready to throw off summer and embrace all things fall. I’m calling the summer of 17 the summer that never happened, letting it go, and heading into fall.
First thing on my fall to-do list? Add some fall touches to our home and front porch. And I guess step one will be removing the Easter decoration from the piano. (Like I said… the summer that never happened.)
I stopped this weekend to pick up some pink mums and burgendy decorative grasses to spruce up the front porch. That’s pretty much all it took for me to be consumed with thoughts of fall. Break out the jeans, footballs, and warm pumpkin flavored coffee. It is time for fall!
When decorating for the fall season my first stop is local shops that carry a variety of mums, pumpkins, and gourds. After adding plants I focus on bringing in warm layers and rusty metals. I have a pretty good assortment of fall decor in storage, but when I can’t find what I’m looking for I head to one of my go-to online shops.
A few of my current favorite pieces for fall decorating, available online.
From Amazon: orange garden stool | olive bucket | copper mug
From Etsy: dried sunflowers | dried willow eucalyptus | dried mini billy balls
From Target: buffalo check pillow | sweater style throw | stripped table runner
From Hobby Lobby: chicken wire planter | cotton wreath | hello fall
What are some of your favorite pieces to add to your home for the fall season? I’d love to hear your favorite ways to decorate for the season in the comments.
