I’m pretty confident I just finished working on the girl’s bedroom from the fall One Room Challenge, but somehow it is the beginning of the spring ORC? This time around I am tackling the bedroom for the boys. We hope to be bringing our son from Haiti will be home in the next few weeks and he will be sharing a bedroom with Josiah. The bedroom was last updated when he was born, close to six years ago, so it’s due for a fresh coat of paint and some updates.
There is a deep green color in the room on the furniture that was painted, and I’m keeping the green color as an accent. But it is going to be freshened up with more kid-friendly versions of the color. The majority of surfaces will be neutral in whites, gray and black as well as a few brass accents.
I have old vintage bedframes, that will be offset by a green solid quilt. Clothing storage will be a partial DIY project, and spice racks and butcher paper will also be brought into the room in a creative way. Lighting will stay in the black and brass color family. And there will be plenty of space in the floor plan for coloring and playing in the room.
Now for a peek at some before photos. These are from about 5 years ago when I shared pictures of Josiah’s nursery, (totally in disbelief that it has been that long) so have a little grace over the picture quality. The bedroom today looks mostly the same, except the crib was moved out and a small white play table has taken its place.
Next Thursday I will have images to share with you on the progress of the boy’s bedroom, which will include newly painted walls and a look at the vintage bedframes. In the meantime, you’ll want to check out the other guest link ups at for the One Room Challenge over here.
