I recently had the chance to help celebrate the soon coming arrival of my newest niece or nephew. Since the gender is unknown until the babies birth we went with a “pea in the pod” theme. Below are some pictures of the decorations from the day of the party.
{pea soup favors}
Split peas, and a bean + pea mix, were put into mason jars and tied with some twine. Two different soup recipes were given with the jars of peas.
{dipped cups}
Cups were painted to give them a “dipped” look. I used a latex based paint and brushed it on with a foam brush. I made sure I didn’t restack the cups. Didn’t want to risk paint getting inside of the other cups!
The banner was handmade. I cut a template out of heavy paper, 4 inch top and 5 inch sides. Traced the template onto the back of the card stock sheets, and cut. Then I took my hole puncher to put two holes on the top and hung them up with twine.
{silverware packets}
{balloon garland}
//My supply list and some helpful hints for recreating the silverware packets,
and balloon garland, will be in another post.//
{picture chandelier}
Above the food table I hung pictures of the mother-to-be. I simply color copied old photos, put a hole punch in the top and hung them with twine from my light fixture. This was one of my favorite parts of the decor. How can you go wrong with baby pictures?
I love parties, and I love babies. So decorating for a party celebrating babies is always lots of fun!
