I love to have flowers in our home all year round – but let’s be honest, they can get expensive! Especially right around Valentine’s Day. To save yourself some money you can pick up flowers from the grocery store, arrange them on your own, and place them into your favorite bucket or basket for a beautiful arrangement. Inexpensive flowers can look fabulous with these easy display tips!
tip 1 | Make sure your flowers are prepped with the ends freshly cut at an angle under running water. All leaves that will be in the water should also be stripped off the stem. You can find out more about how to care for your flowers here.
tip 2 | Prep your glass vase next. Use tape to create a grid along the top of the vase, which will help keep the flowers in place. Begin by placing the flowers with the sturdy stems in the vase first, near the center.
tip 3 | Continue to add flowers to the arrangement, working your way outward. Save the flowers with the most flexible stems for the end. Use the more flexible flowers to go out in a horizontal direction from the arrangement. The stems can be reinforced with a small amount of floral wire wrapped around the stems.
tip 4 | To finish off the arrangement place the vase in a bucket our basket. This olive bucket reproduction is one of my favorites! You can find one just like it here, or a cheaper version here. (affiliate link)
