Even though there are options for wreaths in just bout every home and department store, changing every season, somehow I always seem to end up making my own wreath. I never seem to find the right one for my home at a price I’m willing to pay! So when I was in Hobby Lobby recently I decided to try to find just the right supplies for a neutral wreath that would bring some green into our home. I wandered through all of the aisles of faux flowers and finally ended up in the aisle with the dried and preserved supplies. I found a bundle of willow eucalyptus stems and knew they were just what I was looking for! I LOVED the whimsical look of the leaves and the deep green color. I purchased a bundle of the eucalyptus and a twig wreath (similar here with my affiliate link) and I had all I needed for this simple, neutral wreath DIY.
To create my eucalyptus willow wreath I broke off stems one at a time and wove them in between the twigs.
I continued to weave them into the wreath, covering the entire front of the wreath, and going in the same direction all of the way around the wreath.
When I finished covering the front of the wreath I checked for any eucalyptus twigs that were loose and secured them with a small dot of hot glue. After it dried I flipped the wreath upside down and gave it a gentle shake to make sure everything was staying in place.
Now my wreath is ready to enjoy! I loved them so much I decided to make extras for our upcoming barn sale! The Barn on 128 is hosting its first barn sale event at the end of April. You can see more about the event on the Facebook page here. If you are local I would love to see you there!
