>>This picture describes her perfectly. It wasn’t staged. Just capturing a moment of Granny being Granny<<
Today’s post is about a personal experience that I would have missed out on, had I not moved to the country. It is not, however, exclusive to country girls. At least, it is my hope that each of you will be blessed to meet someone like this in your lifetime, regardless of where you live.
Today’s post is about Granny.
Granny is not my grandmother by blood. I am blessed with many Grandmothers and still have 3 out of 4 living. But Granny is a woman who lives in my community and most people know her as Granny. Margaret Baker is a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She loves every person she comes in contact with as though they were her biological grandchildren. In the 10 years I have known her I cannot remember ever seeing her frowning, or looking grumpy for that matter. She’s too busy loving people. She always wants to know how you are really doing and speaks with a kind and gentle voice. And her words of encouragement are always sincere. Encouraging you to keep on loving your children and family. Not to feel discouraged by the stage of life you are in. She is always a bright spot in my day. And this woman is the epitome of a prayer warrior. If she says she is praying for you, then she is. If you know her personally then it is safe to say she has spent time bringing you before the throne of Heaven.
Today Granny is waiting to pass away from this Earth and into the presence of her Savior. She was diagnosed with colon cancer less than two weeks ago and it has progressed extremely fast. She is 87 and decided to let the cancer take it’s course as opposed to risking surgery. And she is at complete peace and ready to go. She has served her time here on Earth and wants to go to Heaven. Her large family (5 kids, lots of grandkids and great grandkids) were able to be with her this past weekend. They love her fiercely and are sad for themselves, but they are also so happy for her. Leaving her body of pain for the perfection of Heaven. And so I’m joining them in praying she will quickly pass on.
And when I feel sad for myself and her family I will remember that I will be seeing Granny again. In Heaven. Surrounded by the glory of God. I hope each of you will be there with us. If you do not know for sure where you will be after your time on Earth is done I pray you will seek until you find out. You can also contact me and I would love to share more with you about being sure of Heaven. And you can go here to find out more. {here}
May you have peace like Granny has in her heart today,
